Weekend Links

In the past month I have posted here, here, and here about attempts by the federal government to get their grubby little hands on the Internet. Over at RedState.com they have more. It seems the FCC wants to look a little close at the traffic data with a possible attempt to manipulate the numbers for their purposes.

If you’re a reader from LA, or just want to know what is going on in LA, click on over the Patterico.com.  There are several stories today that focus on the LA media and their viewpoints, which, as you might image because they are a newspaper, tilt progressive. Unbiased they are not. One of the best is a post on the unbalanced reporting (opinion?) on Palin’s speech paying tribute to Reagan on his 100th birthday.

Speaking of Reagan’s 100th birthday, there seems that the mainstream media is tripping all over themselves in attempts to show how much they loved Reagan. I am old enough to remember that other than when he was shot, the media, even back then, had a decidedly uneven tilt to the left and Reagan was certainly not a favorite. Terms like “cowboy” and “Teflon President” were not used as endearing forms of describing Reagan. Brett Bozell was also around during those times and he calls out the media in a post titled “The Media Never Loved Reagan”.
A little bit of a flash back from Chris Matthews and his slobbering love affair with Obama, even before he was President. This guy has no shame. Read the post and make sure you click through the links provided in the article.

Here, here, here, here, and here are several links regarding the recently released unemployment figures. As someone who is looking for work, I can tell you that it is tough out there. I am fortunate though. My lovely bride does work, and I have my USAF retirement income that gets us by.

Dick Morris seems to think the Republicans have an outstanding chance of taking back the Senate in 2012. Here is a link to my take. It doesn’t necessarily dovetail with Mr Morris, but I am not the political pundit that he is.
